Just got back from a test ride of the K1300s. One word, really classy and feels luxurious. Took it out for a 20 minute ride around traffic and a bit of highway. Power delivery is very linear and it pulls strongly at low revs. Gear change is an absolute gem especially with the clutchless upshifts. Seating is very comfortable and everything felt great. Reach is perfect and the pegs are correctly placed. The stock exhaust has that "macho" sound to it with some serious low down grunt when fired up. Bike doesn't feel big or heavy on the move although when stationary it feels a little heavy and on the bulky side. Wind buffeting is excellent and the instrumentation is very good. A whole range of information at the touch of a button. Dealer is keen to do a special deal with me. The tri colour with all options at $30k, a $2.5k discount since I bought the S1k from them a couple of months ago. Very tempted. Now I have to seriously think if I want a tourer to carve the Snowys this winter. |
