hi all senior members, Recently i found that Yamaha FZ1 Fazer is one of the choice that i may consider when i decide to buy a bike, but haven't ride for many years (about 8 years). Just want to know more about this bike comments from everyone here who have experience in riding this bike. Because of my physical body size ( I am about 6 foots tall, 96kgs) so i believe this bike will suit my body size. Before this i am thinking of buying a copper bike i.e. Harley 883 but USD$ exchange rate keep going up and the Harley 883 too small for my body size, so have to let go this harley and go for japanese bike and also due to budget restriction, can't afford to buy a R1 or CBR1000RR, so can anyone give me any valuable comments and recommendations? What is the price for this Yamaha FZ1 Fazer for 2008 or 2009 model in Malaysia? Does this bike require a lot of servicing or not? Spare parts for this bike difficult to find or not? Beside this bike any other alternative i should consider? Many thanks |

+Price masa beli 80+ in 2007. Skrg tak sure. +Spares/maintenance normal je like any other superbikes. R1 engine so parts are easy to get. +Easy and comfy riding position, top notch chassis and suspension. +Engine std tuned for more midrange. This can be minus to you, depends on your riding style ler.. I'm more into riding makan angin. -Exhaust end can is quite big. Asyik kena komen suruh tukar sebab saya belum tukar lagi. Belum nampak yg sesuai (the akras and two brothers don't match the bike, in my opinion sahaja la). Also consider 2008 honda Cb1000 or Kawa Z1000. Honda's more expensive and Kawa not as good (again, in my opinion).. |

KuDir and blackon, thanks for the reply. Mr. blackon, is that your bike FZ1 on the pic? It look nice. Actually i start to notice this bike after i watched a drama, the rider ride the bike look very nice and i know that this bike used R1 engine as base, is good for people with limited budget to buy R1 but can enjoy R1 engine power. Beside that i prefer easy riding rather than racing type like R1, CBR... In fact i am looking for copper bike but now i start to notice that i might like this easy rider street bike more than copper bike. I also like the rear tyre of this FZ1 i.e. 190 which is much wider than other same class bike. If the price remain that around RM80K, then is there any other bike i should consider with the same price like this FZ1? Mr. Shark and Cb4, can you give me some advise please? How about FZ6 any different in term of size and power? |

150 HP wooooooooooo  The FZ1 is the real deal, a pure streetbike built to cut it on the city streets, a muscular powerhouse that knows where it’s going. Stripped to the essentials, the FZ1 eats up the urban sprawl with its awesome R1-based motor and super-agile chassis. This is a no-nonsense motorcycle that owns the streets, day and night. Features Key Features: Our ultimate street brawler brings 998cc of fuel-injected R1 power to the fray, in a light and strong aluminum frame. Sculpted fuel tank and a real-live handlebar move the rider forward for aggressive naked-bike excitement. Adjustable suspension at both ends lets the FZ1 be dialed in for a wide range of uses—everything from track days to urban assault to sport touring. Engine: 998cc DOHC 20-valve R1 engine is tuned for tremendous mid-range punch and massive top-end power. R1-style fuel injection with computer-controlled sub-throttle valves provides precise fuel/air mixture for superb power delivery across the entire rev range. Closed-deck cylinder block provides great strength while allowing a narrow engine in spite of big, 77mm bores. Narrow-angle five-valve combustion chambers produce a highly efficient 11.5:1 compression ratio. Big valves and high-lift cams flow plenty of air. Carburized connecting rods with fractured big ends produce a quick-revving engine with excellent high-rpm durability. High silicon-content ceramic-composite cylinder sleeves ensure great heat dissipation for consistent power delivery and reduced friction. Four-into-one chamberless short-style exhaust contains stainless steel EXUP and three-way catalyst with O2 sensor for outstanding power delivery throughout the rev range and low emissions. Curved high-capacity radiator with twin ring-style fans keeps everything cool under all conditions. 2007 Yamaha FZ1 Chassis/Suspension: Aggressive chassis geometry for quick handling: the engine’s shoved forward for excellent handling. Aggressive ergos: 4.75-gallon tank moves the rider forward into a position of total control—supersport-like 51 percent front wheel weight bias means confident, quick handling. Light and rigid aluminum frame uses a special mold casting technique that allowed engineers to minutely vary metal thicknesses for optimal rigidity throughout. Stressed-engine design holds the engine in place with six mounts, for excellent vertical stiffness and handling. Two-inch longer and more rigid Controlled Fill aluminum swingarm reduces drive chain-induced suspension movement for excellent handling, tire grip and looks. 43mm fully adjustable inverted fork contains compression damping circuitry in the left leg and rebound in the right—proven effective on the YZR-M1 MotoGP bike—as well as stiffer springs for excellent handling. Two 320mm front discs squeezed by monoblock four-piston calipers and a single 245mm rear disc serve up strong stopping power. Removable subframe for easy maintenance, and detachable passenger footpeg mounts for even more stripped-down style. Light, R1-spec five-spoke wheels and fat radial tires, including a 190/50-ZR17 rear, complete the look and serve up the traction. Additional Features: Fairing features a half-cowl design with R1-style headlight layout that creates a super-aggressive naked bike profile. High-tech instrument display features analog tachometer, digital speedometer, etc.—also a fade-in lighting feature with adjustable brightness. Two-piece seat serves up great comfort along with total control. Passenger grabrails for riding comfort. Durable O-ring-sealed drive chain provides longer chain life. Dual 12V 60/55-watt multireflector headlight features a sleek, R1-type profile for superb aerodynamics and visibility. 2007 Yamaha FZ1 ---- SPECS 2007 Yamaha FZ1 Engine Type: 998cc, liquid-cooled, 20-valve, DOHC, inline four-cylinder Bore x Stroke: 77 x 53.6mm Compression Ratio: 11.5:1 Carburetion: Fuel injection Ignition: Digital TCI Max Power: 150 hp @ 10000 rpm Max Torque: 106 Nm @ 11000 rpm Transmission: 6-speed w/multi-plate clutch Final Drive: O-ring chain Standing ¼ Mile: 11.1 sec Top Speed: 246.1 km/h Chassis Suspension/Front: 43mm telescopic fork w/adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping; 5.1" travel Suspension/Rear: Single shock w/ piggyback reservoir; adjustable spring preload and rebound damping; 5.1" travel Brakes/Front: Dual 320mm floating discs w/4-piston calipers Brakes/Rear: 245mm disc w/single-piston caliper Tires/Front: 120/70-ZR17 Tires/Rear: 190/50-ZR17 Dimensions Length: 84.3" Width: 30.3" Height: 47.4" Seat Height: 32.1" Wheelbase: 57.5" Rake (Caster Angle): 25.0° Trail: 4.3" Fuel Capacity: 4.75 gal.
